I gaze into the dark blue sky
In search of hope; to meet my twin,
gathered courage for 89 years- still searching;
You seem to be close; but yet so far.
This aspiration in me was not for now,
It remained a search for long cherished years.
it yielded sleepless nights and
my mortal yearned to meet you, though.
I hear your voice but couldn’t see
an obstacle stood tall blocking my view,
shut my lids and alone I lay in my cozy little chamber everyday;
Questioned a scholar, a scientist, a doctor,
an architect, a journalist, a psychologist….& at last god,
but listened no answer; for it was too strange,
no way ! no way ! it’s impracticable they said;
I grew old & lost my life;
knew a day - would unquestionably meet;
spoke, laughed, expressed, & cried together.
But why? But why? God made it so hard for us to meet;
I knew – You seem to be close; but yet so far.
The day came when you lost yours, I jumped for joy; happiness unbound
My waiting was fruitful, you came to me; looked at you for the very first time.
Touched you to feel your warmth. Precisely “You resemble me”.
Oh my eyes!
Oh my eyes!
